Is There Coaching for People Exhausted From Masking?
Yes — and it doesn’t require a diagnosis to be useful. Masking exhaustion shows up for autistic and ADHD people, but also for anyone who’s spent years performing a version of themselves that doesn’t match how they actually feel inside. The exhaustion is real either way. Coaching that only speaks to one diagnosis often misses everyone else carrying the same weight.
What masking exhaustion actually is
It’s the gap between functioning and living — hitting deadlines, keeping it together for everyone else, and coming home with nothing left for yourself. Not because you’re lazy or broken, but because holding a performance takes energy that never gets replaced.
Working IFS-informed means we don’t treat the mask as the problem to eliminate. The parts of you that learned to mask did so for a reason, often a good one at the time. We work on understanding those parts first — what they were protecting you from — before we look at what might change.
Why this isn’t diagnosis-first
I work with people who are autistic, ADHD, both, neither, or unsure. What matters more than a label is your actual experience: what it costs you to keep performing, and what it might look like to set some of that down.
I won’t hand you generic advice that gets people nowhere while adding guilt on top of exhaustion. If something needs clinical support beyond coaching, I’ll say so. A free 20-minute call is a no-pressure way to see if this fits — you’ll walk away with clarity either way.
